Final Day
Can’t remember so many games influencing the Title, Europe or Relegation on the final day of the Prem! 8 out of the 10 games affect the outcome
Liverpool or City for the Title?
Arsenal or Spurs for the Champions League?
Irons or Manure for the Europa League?
Leeds or Burnley for the drop!
I remember 2006 (I think??) when we beat Spurs to deny them Europe, I think Benayoun scored that free kick and it may have been the year Spurs all got food poisoning??
What’s your best final day memory of West Ham?

All those nice new seats in the away end could end up on the pitch along with the inflatable Jimmy Saville.

Now then, now then!

I can see things getting very tasty at Brentford particuarly if Leeds get relegated.

Im really hoping for a "Spursy" game at Norwich, do wonders for the myth!

And of course us to beat Brighton and ManU to do thier usual this season and not turn up at Selhurst Park.

Fair few ticketless Leeds fans on my train down, just heard their hilarious ( not ) ditty 'We are Leeds and we are vile, Thomas Frank is a p.....le'.

Apart for a stream of our game, BBC Two may be the=bets place to keep up with the goings on..

"Final Score will be showing the goals and best action from the seven Premier League games not being shown live elsewhere" From 4.00. "Goals as they go in "apparently.

I can’t see spurs throwing this one away, Norwich are just too shit.

Would be sweet though.

Hopefully on Monday Everton get punished for the financial cheating and get a points deduction for this season or next.

Norwich 2-0 Tottenham
Crystal Palace 1-1 Man Utd
Brighton 1-4 West Ham

West Ham and Tottenham in Europa.
How glorious would that be.

Great day that was in 2006, Yossi scored a cracker BM end, cutting in towards the end. Pardew then gave a rousing speech at FT telling us all to get measured up for our suits. Rocking all over the world blaring out

Eni Aluko to take over them from next season.

I see that Brentford have increased the police numbers from 100 to 800 for the visit of Leeds. I know that I won't be wearing colours to Brighton as I'll be on a train from and back to West Yorkshire. They can be a horrible bunch at the best of times.

Re: Final Day
Should be a cracker this Sunday actually- at least on paper. It could all fizzle out after 20 minutes of play.

Hoping that Man City smash Villa, or that Liverpool lose out in agonising fashion in the last minute. However they seem to have the luck of the devil so I'm sure it'll go the other way.

Spurs/Arsenal will be a damp squib as they aren't going to fuck it up home to Norwich. however I have to say I'd take no pleasure in Arsenal finishing 4th either after the way they've behaved under Arteta.

Obviously I hope Man U lose, but I'm not sure I can see it after last night and all the furore surrounding Palace now.

Fucking shame Everton got out of it. I'm not sure I'd fancy their chances if it all came down to sunday. Would have loved them to go down. Burnley and Leeds are both shitcunt clubs as well so happy with either going. Leeds will probably bounce back. Burnley won't.

Re: Final Day
Cambridge at home is obviously a stand out last day - don't mention the pitch invasion.

And stopping man united from winning the league as well. Blackburn almost messed it up but not quite.
We beat them both in the run-in didnt we?

Re: Final Day
The other final day fallacy is that Tottenham were poisoned by a dodgy lasagne.
The team all gave urine and stool samples the following week to the North East and Central London Health Protection Unit, and no evidence of food poisoning was found in any of them. One tested positive for norovirus and it was accepted that it as it was a highly contagious gastro-bug that was the most likely reason for the hilarity.

Don't get me wrong, mate. Though you were the only one to mention that on this thread, I didn't mean to single you out. There are loads of Hammers who think the same thing.

Point is, a draw was enough to stay up, in the end, but nearly everyone says Tevez scored the goal that kept us up, which is only a perception, not a fact. The annoying thing was that it was on this perception alone that we ended up having to pay out many millions to Sheffield United.

Our legal defence team needed shooting for not winning the case.

Re: Final Day
One of my favourites was Lasagnagate. Fletcher scored then I believe Spurs equalised with a late goal from one of my favourites Yossi cutting inside in the box and smashing it in.

Great day all round.

Re: Final Day
Can anybody remember a final day, when more than 2 clubs had a chance of winning the league title?

Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember when there wasn't a last day when all fixtures were played at the same time. Fixtures were re arranged, so there were odd games played, after the last scheduled full round of fixtures. 1985/86 for example, we played Everton on the Monday, after the last full weekend. Could have been a title decider, if results had gone differently on the Saturday.
